In the spring of 2017, Gilbert received a YouTube video of Pastor Steven and started tuning in online weekly. During one of the weekly sermons, he was shocked when he heard Pastor Steven shout out the Elevation Melbourne campus. In July 2017, he attended for the first time and soon after, gave his life to Christ and publicly declared his faith through baptism. He then began serving on the Production Team and joined a men’s eGroup. He has even stepped in to lead that same eGroup for the past 6 years. God has shown Gilbert the importance of community and family. He met his wife, Jenae, through volunteering, and now other family members have joined him in attending. What was once a season of isolation for Gilbert has turned into a season of immeasurably more because of the church family God has given him through Elevation Melbourne.  We invite people to Elevation each week SO THAT people just like Gilbert can find connection and community at our church.
